Notes

Each of these titans are heavyweights in their own respective universes. However, who would win in a no-holds-barred matchup? Their powers sets are fairly comparable, and share many similarities (ie: super strength, flight, energy projection, etc.) However, it is worth noting that Superman’s powers have a fair range to them. For example, if he has time to prepare by absorbing radiation from the sun for a great deal of time, his powers will be increased. Also, Superman has weaknesses to Kryptonite, and Magic, where Thor doesn’t have any apparent weaknesses.

The Scenario

This fight will take place on the surface of an uninhabited planet similar to Earth, orbiting a yellow sun at the same distance as Earth from its sun. Neither contestants are given any prior warning time to prepare, and both believe that they other is a threat to Earth.

The Fight

A fistfight breaks out immediately, each party testing the other’s strength and limits. Blows that would knock off a normal opponent’s head are glanced aside. It becomes apparent fairly quickly that this fight will not be won with fists, and the pair takes to the sky. Superman attempts to use super speed to get the drop on Thor, however, Thor proves himself to be fast enough to keep up with the Man of Steel. Superman blasts the norse God with Heat vision, but Mjolnir absorbs the thermal energy, saving Thor from the damage. Eventually, Thor manages to strike Superman a square blow with Mjolnir. Superman crashes down, astonished by the power behind the blow. Due to Mjolnir’s magical nature, Superman is as weak to its blow as any normal person would be. Taking advantage of this realization, Thor summons a bolt of magical lightning to strike the fallen superhero. After several more powerful blows, the Man of Steel lies defeated.

Outcome

Due largely to Superman’s weakness to Magic, and the magical nature of many of Thor’s attacks, Thor is the victor in this scenario.
