Notes
This fight is a little different than any of the ones we’ve seen previously, moving away from Superheroes and focusing on cultural icons, two normal men who are extremely good at what they do. Noteworthy facts to consider are that Bond has often had to use gadgets provided by the Secret Service in order to survive, but without them, will he be as effective? Both Jones and Bond have extensive Military history and are trained in hand-to-hand combat. Jones has a noted fear of snakes.
The Scenario
Naturally, there are certain guidelines that would have to be in place in order for this matchup to work. Firstly, both participants are in their physical prime, and have time traveled in order to be in the same place and time. Both are given 24 hours to prepare for the fight, however they are given no assistance from anyone else. Bond cannot be given any intel or gadgets from MI6 past what he can attain by himself in one day’s time. The fight takes place in an abandoned castle in England, which neither participants had access to prior to the match.
The Fight
Both men begin on opposite ends of the castle, and work their way towards the courtyard in the center. Upon reaching the courtyard, they begin firing at each other, running and ducking from cover to cover, managing to avoid getting hit, as they have become quite skilled at doing. When they inevitably run out of ammo, the two cautiously approach each other, Indy reaching for his bullwhip.
Suddenly, Indy draws his whip, slashing it out and wrapping it around Bond’s neck. Surprised, but quick on his feet, Bond quickly activates the laser-beam on his trusty gadget-watch, severing the whip and freeing himself. Jones takes advantage of this momentary drop in Bond’s defenses and pounces towards his opponent, knocking him to the ground and quickly begins pummeling him into the ground. The fist-fight is lengthy and fairly evenly matched, with Jones having a slight upperhand. The fight ends as Indy knocks Bond into a secret trap in the castle, rendering him incapacitated.
Outcome
Another close fight. But, when it comes down to it, Bond often relies on his gadgets or assistance from the Secret Service in order to succeed, and usually uses his suave and charm to avoid fights. When it’s a fair, one-on-one fight, Jones proves himself to be the stronger player. In any situation, he can prevail with nothing more than his wits, trusty revolver, whip and fists.
