While both fighters are incredibly experienced at fighting and stealth, and both were trained extensively by arguably the most experienced human fighters of their respective universes, Bucky has the advantage of a cybernetic metal arm, and the legendary unbreakable shield of Captain America. Bucky also carries firearms, however, Nightwing has proven more than capable of avoiding and taking down opponents armed with guns, in addition to being the world’s greatest acrobat.
It is night time in New York City. Nightwing and Captain America are both given 24 hours to prepare for the fight. Neither party can communicate with the other. Captain America os equipped with his shield, a pistol and a combat knife. Nightwing is equipped with his eskrima batons, batarangs, smoke/gas/knockout pellets, and gauntlets.
The fight begins quickly, both fighters are on the rooftops. Nightwing makes the first move, hoping to catch Captain America off-guard. He releases his eskrima batons from their spring-loaded holsters on his back and leaps over towards Barnes in a flying kick. Barnes quickly avoids the kick, ducking behind his shield to avoid the eskrima batons and comes up from underneath with a wicked uppercut from his bionic arm. Dick moves with the punch, taking off part of the blow, and flips backward out of range of any further punches. Captain America proceeds to throw the shield like a discus toward Nightwing, who easily dodges the throw and retaliates by throwing several of his custom batarangs. Barnes cannot avoid all of them without his shield and is hit by several. As the shield ricochets back to Captain America, Nightwing again takes the offensive, launching a flurry of punches and kicks, most of which Barnes is able to deflect and retaliate, and the others easily absorbed by the Captain’s armor. As the two seperate, Barnes draws his gun, opening fire on Nightwing while approaching him. Nightwing dodges the bullets with relative ease, and throws several more batarangs at Barnes, which he easily blocks with his shield. As the two beging close-quarters fighting once again, Captain America uses his shield to bash at Nightwing, knocking him back, and following through with a heavy punch from his bionic arm. As the punch connects, a bolt of electricity is released from the arm, rendering Nightwing unconscious.
A rather lengthy and very close fight. However, Captain America proves to have a slight edge when it comes to his equipment, providing him with a narrow win.
